8.00 am: Back in the study chair and to the ‘John Harvey‘ website update project. While the task has taken less time than I’d anticipated, it’s nevertheless time that would otherwise be devoted to current and prospective projects. Your past shouldn’t take precedence over the now and the then. What has been is unalterable; but the present is malleable; and the future, open to possibilities that can be shaped to some extent. However, I wish to understand my own history (which has, to a large extent, shaped who I’m presently and may become) and to put my professional affairs in order. (In the background: Roxy Music’s For Your Pleasure.)

11.00 am: I’d completed a first phase sweep of the entire website, and fixed most of the imaging problems along the way. Those ‘issues’ that were beyond my ken to resolve were passed onto an expert. (I know my limits.) The next phase involves a plunge into the global style/template facility of website’s ‘theme’. Today, of course, you have to ensure that the website looks well designed not only on a computer screen but also mobile technologies:

In betwixt, I messaged my elder son. He and his brother are together this weekend to attend a jazz concert. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (Psalm 133.1). I don’t have siblings, and can only guess at the psycho-emotional dynamics that my children experience. I’d always wanted a younger sister. Although, I think this was motivated by a desire to have someone to tease. In her absence, quite a number of women in my life have been the substitutionary objects of my gentle humour.

The website has 98 pages; many include links to other sites (all of which have to be tested). 3.40 pm: Phase 2 completed, I began Phase 3: fixing links and regularising the conventions for biblical referencing. Phase 4, which would have to wait until Monday, would involve regularising the descriptions for the sound performance events. A chore.

5.10 pm: Enough! Enough!
