My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so (Thomas Merton (1915–1968)).
WFH: DAY 57. 8.00 am: A communion. 8.30 am: I prepared the way for a (potential) day of assessments with my colleague Dr Forster. Normally, this would have taken place in the studios, in front of the students’ show. The submission of work via a PowerPoint portfolio is entirely adequate to making an informed judgement about the final output in response to a module. Our conversation ranged wide. These days, pedagogy has to take in the totality of a student’s profile: background, well-being, attitude, and commitment:
1.45 pm: ‘Round 2!’ Dr Forster and I climbed back into the ring:
4.30 pm: Job done. ‘Out, out, out!’:
7.30 pm: I caught up on the day’s incoming emails and the recalcitrant few that remained from last week.
